At Magna Carbon, we look at the natural world as the lead, and use the development of natural carbon sequestration hubs, as the the guide for future actions in combatting excess carbon emissions. The forestry, marine plantlife, algae, and grassland projects we support, develop the multifunctionality of forests, and to help generate benefits for the planet and for humanity as a whole. Magna Carbon, enriches, creates or reconstitutes multifunctional forests by planting various species adapted to the local ecosystem or by promoting natural regeneration. In temperate zones, this may involve the restoration of plots affected by man made hazards, dying forests or the creation of new forests. In tropical areas, we work on plots that have been deforested. Magna Carbon, contributes to the development of greener, more sustainable and more desirable cities by planting urban forests globally. We use techniques inspired by the Miyawaki method. The method involves planting two to four trees per square metre. Miyawaki forests grow in two to three years and are self-sustaining. They help lower temperatures in concrete heat islands, reduce air and noise pollution, attract local birds and insects, and create carbon sinks. The creation of urban forests has beneficial effects on air quality, ambient temperature and people's psychological well-being. Magna Carbon, supports agroforestry projects: projects to create hedgerows in temperate zones or projects to plant trees in agricultural plots in tropical zones. These actions enhance the environment, and socio-economic benefits for local populations. Magna Carbon, focusses on the restoration of the mangrove, a particular ecosystem that covers 75% of tropical coasts. This fights against coastal erosion, and preserves the coasts from rising water levels, and protects biodiversity. We take a fully collaborative approach with local project leaders, on projects, as we undertand that the process of selecting the correct plantlife for the local ecosystem, the ratio of plant, and the like requires an approach adapted to each unique landscape, on the planet, taking into account its biodiversity and the culture of the local population. The selection of projects is made on the basis of specifications, proper to temperate and tropical zones, and must comply with the principles of the standard Multifunctionality carbon sequestration template (SMCS) developed by Magna Carbon. The technical partners in the field meet a requirement for expertise and transparency in order to ensure,qa the proper conduct and monitoring of projects over the long term. The amount of funding we provide, depends on a range of factors, which include: project size, measurable impact on biodiversity, CO2 storage capability over specified timescales, and socio-economic impacts to local communities. The funds provided by Magna Carbon, to project leaders are collated from Multinational Corporations, Military, and individuals who wish to take decisive concrete action in mitigating the effects of climate change. The Magna Carbon, project auditing protocol is based on remote , and in person monitoring, in collaboration with our technical partners, as well as ongoing visits to projects in the field. The objective: To measure growth of the projects, and to evaluate the ecosystem services generated by our projects.
